How do you handle confrontation with a roommate?
This can be tricky. It’s best to not lash out in momentary anger, but rather step back and ask yourself, “Will this bother me tomorrow?” You might just be frustrated with a bad grade or other situations in your life and be accidently taking it out on your roommate. If you can answer yes to that question, again take some time to think and decide what you want to say. Try to avoid using “you” and pointing all the blame on them. Instead be objective and explanatory, helping them understand your side of the story and work together to find a solution to the problem. It may also be a good idea to involve an RA, just to have a mediator and listener if you feel it may turn into a heated argument.
